We are an architecture firm dedicated to designing second homes that feel grounded, relevant, and thoughtfully built. From the first conversation to the final details, our work is shaped by respect for the place, commitment to the craft, and an understanding of what it means to feel at home somewhere new.
We design second homes shaped by cultural awareness, thoughtful guidance, and architecture that feels naturally at home.

Who We Are
I’m Israel—architect and urban designer behind Habitante.

I started this practice to make the experience of building a home abroad feel more grounded, more thoughtful, and more connected to its place. That vision has been shaped by my own path—one that’s taken me from Norway to Sweden to Mexico—exploring how cities evolve and how design can quietly transform the way we live.
I’ve collaborated with studios such as Tatiana Bilbao and Francisco Pardo, and led independent projects across Europe and Latin America. Along the way, my work has found its way into publications like ARCHITECT Magazine, Arquine, and Actar—outlets that celebrate architecture that listens deeply to people, to context, and to culture.
This practice brings together everything I’ve learned—about materials, systems, and people—and channels it into the deeply personal, often complex journey of building a home in a place that’s new.
This is where experience meets intention, and where design becomes a way to truly belong.

We help you find, design, and build a home in Mexico that feels connected—to the land, to the culture, and to you.
